Extra-Curricular

Aquatics

As part of our curriculum, Year 5-7 students at Rapid Bay Primary School have the opportunity to participate in Aquatics lessons. These lessons provide valuable experiences for our students and help develop their water safety skills and confidence.

During these Aquatics lessons, our students engage in exciting activities such as surfing at Middleton and kayaking at Goolwa or Encounter Lakes. These locations provide ideal environments for students to learn and practice their water-based skills.

Traditionally, these Aquatics lessons have been scheduled in Term 1 of the school year. This timing allows our students to start the year with a focus on water safety and outdoor education. It also provides an enjoyable and active way for students to build connections with their peers and develop teamwork skills.

We take the safety of our students seriously, and all Aquatics lessons are supervised by qualified instructors and staff members. Students are provided with appropriate safety equipment and are closely monitored throughout the activities.

By incorporating Aquatics lessons into our curriculum, we aim to instil in our students a lifelong love and respect for the water. These lessons not only promote physical fitness but also teach valuable life skills that can be applied beyond the classroom.

Swimming

Swimming lessons are organised for students from Reception to Year 5. These lessons take place at Delamere and are conducted by swimming instructor Mel Mason. Closer to the date, you will receive information regarding the cost and consent forms for the swimming program. Please keep an eye out for these details to ensure your child’s participation.

Music Lessons

We are fortunate enough to be able to offer piano lessons with experienced and qualified music teacher, Elaine Henn, during school hours. Whilst the lessons take place at school during school hours, the school does not organise these lessons. Interested parents contact Elaine directly to organise enrolment and pay lesson fees directly to her. If you are interested, please contact us and we will provide you with Elaine’s contact details.
