Principal Welcome
Welcome to Rapid Bay Primary School!
I am delighted to extend a heartfelt welcome to all students, parents, and members of our community. Nestled on the stunning Fleurieu Coast, Rapid Bay Primary School is a truly special educational institution serving the vibrant communities in the Southern Fleurieu Peninsula Region. We take immense pride in our close-knit school community and the strong bonds we have formed with our families.
At Rapid Bay Primary, our vision is to cultivate self-directed learners who possess a strong growth mindset, empathy, resilience, and a readiness to embrace challenges. We are dedicated to equipping our students with the skills and mindset necessary to navigate the dynamic and ever-changing job landscape of the future. While academic growth and achievement are of great importance to us, we also place equal emphasis on developing well-rounded, compassionate citizens who will make positive contributions to society.
Our guiding principle is encapsulated in our statement, “Educating For The Future.” We strive to foster an unwavering curiosity among our students, underlining the fact that success is directly tied to effort. By connecting the curriculum to real-world contexts, offering student choice, promoting hands-on learning, and encouraging collaboration, we aim to ignite our students’ innate curiosity and lay the foundation for an innovative and knowledgeable generation.
At Rapid Bay Primary School, our dedicated staff and students live by our core values: Respect, Aiming high, Passionate, Inclusive, and Determined. These values form the bedrock of our expectations and shape our daily school life. We are firmly committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment where each child feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.
We place great importance on forging strong connections with our broader community. Active participation in various community activities and events, such as tree planting, Clean Up Australia Day, local sports clubs, Christmas Carols, Kids Market, and the Cut it at the Cape lawnmower race, enables our students to engage with the world beyond our school walls and develop a sense of civic responsibility.
For parents and caregivers considering enrolling their children with us, we warmly welcome requests for tours of our school. This is an excellent opportunity to experience firsthand our vibrant learning environment and witness the dedication of our staff.
Once again, I extend a warm welcome to all new and returning members of our Rapid Bay Primary School community. Together, let us embark on an exciting educational journey, fostering a love for learning, nurturing character, and shaping the future leaders of tomorrow.
Warm regards,
Jen McArdle
Principal, Rapid Bay Primary School
