Attendance

Attendance is a crucial aspect of ensuring student engagement and success in their education at Rapid Bay Primary School. We believe that regular attendance plays a significant role in a student’s academic progress and overall development.

While children under six years of age are not legally required to attend school, once enrolled, regular attendance is expected. We emphasise the importance of consistent attendance to maximize learning opportunities and maintain a cohesive classroom environment.

If a student is unable to attend school, we kindly request that parents fill out the Skool Loop form or make a phone call to inform the school about the reason for the absence. To streamline this process, we encourage the use of the Skool Loop Application, which allows convenient communication between parents and the school.

It is essential to provide a valid explanation for any student absence, as this helps us maintain accurate attendance records and ensure the well-being of our students. In cases where a student is absent for three or more consecutive days, a doctor’s certification is required.

We acknowledge that long-term absences or recurring patterns of absences can have a detrimental impact on a student’s educational progress. Therefore, we encourage parents and guardians to prioritise regular school attendance and communicate with the school regarding any concerns or challenges that may affect attendance.

By working together to prioritise attendance, we can provide students with the best opportunities for academic success and ensure a supportive learning environment for all. If you have any questions or require further information about our attendance policy, please don’t hesitate to contact the school.
